JSON to CSV Converter
Convert a JSON array of objects into CSV, with nested fields flattened.
About the JSON to CSV Converter
The JSON to CSV Converter turns a JSON array of objects into CSV that opens in Excel, Google Sheets or any spreadsheet. Each object becomes a row and each key becomes a column.
Nested objects are flattened into dotted column names such as address.city, arrays are joined with " | ", and values containing commas, quotes or line breaks are quoted correctly. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded to our server, so it is safe to use with private data.
How to use it
- Paste a JSON array of objects, or an object whose first value is such an array.
- Select Convert to CSV.
- Copy the CSV, or paste it into a spreadsheet.
Common uses
- Analysing an API response in a spreadsheet.
- Sharing exported data with colleagues who do not read JSON.
- Importing records into tools that accept CSV.
Tips
- Objects with different keys still work; missing values become empty cells.
- Validate the input first with the JSON Formatter if conversion fails.
