About the Password Generator
The Password Generator creates random passwords from 8 to 128 characters long, using any mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Randomness comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, not from a predictable formula.
Passwords are created on your device and never sent anywhere. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded to our server, so it is safe to use with private data.
How to use it
- Set the length.
- Choose which character groups to include.
- Select Generate, then Copy.
- Save the password in your password manager before closing the page.
Common uses
- Creating a unique password for each new account.
- Replacing a weak or reused password after a data breach.
- Generating Wi-Fi keys and other shared secrets.
Tips
- Use at least 16 characters for everyday accounts and longer for email, banking and admin access.
- Never reuse a password across sites; a password manager makes unique passwords practical.
- If a site rejects symbols, increase the length instead.
