Timestamp Converter
Convert Unix timestamps and readable dates to ISO and local time.
About the Timestamp Converter
The Timestamp Converter turns a Unix timestamp into a readable date and back. It accepts timestamps in seconds or milliseconds, as well as dates such as 2026-01-01T00:00:00Z, and shows the result in ISO 8601 format and in your local time.
A Unix timestamp counts the time since 1 January 1970 UTC and is used by databases, APIs and log files. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded to our server, so it is safe to use with private data.
How to use it
- Enter a timestamp or a date, or select Use current time.
- Select Convert.
- Read the ISO, local and Unix values.
Common uses
- Reading timestamps in logs and database records.
- Checking token expiry times.
- Finding the timestamp for a date to use in a query.
Tips
- Ten-digit values are seconds and thirteen-digit values are milliseconds.
- Add Z or a time zone offset to a written date to avoid it being read as local time.
